You may find it useful to find out more about organisations in the UK that are involved in nanotechnologies research or assessment. Below is a series of links to appropriate organisations engaged in nanotechnologies in the UK. These organisations may help to provide further resources on nanotechnologies for Small Talk event organisers and participants.

Institute of Nanotechnology

This is the professional body for people involved in nanotechnologies industry or research in the UK. It has links with European networks, and governments, universities, research and companies worldwide. The website provides mainly technical information on nanotechnologies events, jobs, links, books, courses, images and news.

Royal Society & Royal Academy of Engineering review of nanotechnology

As part of their study, the Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering created a website, which explains more about the study, how it was carried out, what is happening now, and provides an opportunity for people to respond to the report.

Royal Society

This page on the Royal Society website gives an overview of the joint nanotechnologies project plus links to the website above and the study’s final report.

NanotechWeb

This website advertises itself as the world service for nanotechnologies. It provides search information on nanotechnologies-related news, reviews, resources and events. You can also sign up to recieve weekly nanotechnologies news updates.

Soft Machines

A useful weblog on all aspects of nanotechnologies by Richard Jones, chair of the Nanotechnologies Engagement Group and author of Soft Machines: nanotechnology and life . One entry is an annotated list of numberous books about the nanotechnology.

Nanologue

Europe-wide dialogue on benefits, risks and social, ethical and legal implications of nanotechnologies. Nanologue’s overarching objective is to facilitate a dialogue among researchers, business and civil society about the benefits and potential impacts of nanoscience and nanotechnology applications.
