Linking with policymakers

One of the most important aims of Small Talk is to forge links with science policymakers in order to help inform decisions on future nanotechnologies policies. We want the results of Small Talk and our findings on public and scientists’ attitudes towards nanotechnologies to inform decision makers on the course of action for future nanotechnologies research, use and regulation.

Our findings will be eventually published in a final report, which will be circulated to influential policymakers on nanotechnologies. However we hope to engage policymakers in our ongoing dialogue on nanotechnologies before this and will be posting any findings here.

We have learned from existing resources on how science policy is formed and how to engage with and influence policy makers, and recommend these to scientists and event organisers who wish to inform science policy. You can also direct questions or comments towards policymakers through the Small Talk website, or if you are a policymaker, you can comment on Small Talk's work.
